SpaceX Paid by US to send Starlink to Ukraine - despite claiming it wasn’t (Report)

The US government is paying SpaceX to send Starlink internet terminals to Ukraine amid the Russian military operation, despite the company specifically claiming otherwise, the Washington Post has uncovered.

“I’m proud that we were able to provide the terminals to folks in Ukraine,” SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell previously said, adding, “I don’t think the US has given us any money to give terminals to the Ukraine.”

The government purchased more than 1,330 terminals from SpaceX to send to Ukraine, however SpaceX itself did donate 3,670 terminals.

Ukrainian neo-Nazis make ‘chemical attack’ claim

Ukraine's neo-Nazi Azov Battalion has accused Russian forces of deploying a chemical weapon against its fighters in Mariupol.

An unidentified chemical agent was dropped from a drone, leaving several Ukrainian fighters in the area struggling to breathe, according to unverified accusations posted on Telegram by the ultra-nationalists.

However, an aide to Mariupol's Mayor noted that the allegations of a chemical attack hadn’t been confirmed (Reuters). Moscow has previously warned that claims such as this one could be used to create a pretext for the US and its Western allies to step up efforts to punish Russia over the ongoing conflict.

Even the UK's Defense chief said it might be "tear gas." So... what police use on protesters in Europe all the time? Other reports suggest a gas tank was hit at the Azovstal factory in the city.

 Ukrainian opposition leader ARRESTED

An exuberant Zelensky shared photos of his handcuffed rival Viktor Medvedchuk, while the head of Ukraine’s security services claimed that “Not a single traitor will escape punishment.”

Who is Viktor Medvedchuk?

▪️ Heads second largest party in Ukrainian parliament, “Opposition Platform – For Life”

▪️ Stood against the 2014 Kiev Maidan

▪️Western media labels Medvedchuk as “Putin’s ally”

▪️ Polls in 2021 showed “Opposition Platform – For Life” overtaking Zelensky's ‘Servant of the People’ as the most popular party in the state

▪️In retaliation, Zelensky seemingly closed media outlets associated with Medvedchuk and arrested him on “treason” charges

Medvedchuk has rejected accusations of being “pro-Russian,” insisting his party represents millions of ordinary Ukrainians. In February 2021, he accused Zelensky of seeking to establish a dictatorship in Ukraine and suppress the legally elected opposition.
