Israel wants apology from Russia over Hitler remark

Israel has summoned the Russian ambassador, after FM Sergey Lavrov suggested that Adolf Hitler may have had some Jewish blood, and that the “most ardent” anti-Semites are Jews themselves.

“Lavrov’s remarks are both an unforgivable and outrageous statement as well as a terrible historical error,” Israeli FM Yair Lapid tweeted Monday, adding, “The lowest level of racism against Jews is to accuse Jews themselves of antisemitism.”

Speaking to Italy’s Mediaset media company Sunday, Lavrov confirmed that one of the objectives of Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine is the “denazification” of the country. A reporter mentioned that Ukrainian President Zelensky is Jewish.

Lavrov replied: “I could be wrong, but Hitler, too, had Jewish blood in him. This means absolutely nothing. Wise Jewish people say the most ardent anti-Semites are usually Jews. Every family has a black sheep, as we like to say.”

Russian governor explains blasts near Ukraine

The two alleged “massive explosions” overnight were not the result of shelling from Ukraine, the head of Belgorod Region has assured residents.

“I would like to dispel the region’s residents’ fears that someone or something had flown to us from the territory of Ukraine. This is not true,” Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on Telegram Monday.

He further explained that the explosions were related to “combat missions” carried out by the Russian military “as part of the special military operation.”

Killing Russian Culture / 2022

#Europe

Don't come to Kiev, we will kill you;” “Close your office immediately. Our group is determined to protect Italians from the danger that Russians pose.” These are threats to Russian athletes and artists abroad. These people have become targets of “cancel culture” trend. Or cancel Russian culture, to be exact.

Since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, Russian people in the West have been up against the strongest wave of Russophobia, which also engulfed Russian art, and sport, Munich Philharmonic Orchestra cut all ties with Maestro Valery Gergiev. Sergey Karyakin, Russian chess grandmaster was disqualified by FADE for his political views. Even the deceased masters are being cancelled: Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Chekhov are no longer welcome in the West.

How does Russian culture withstand this wave of aggression? Killing Russian Culture is about just that.

Finland wants stronger border fence with Russia

The countries share a 1,343km land border, which according to Finnish media is only protected “by a thin and rusty barbed wire fence,” on Finland’s side.

Colonel Marko Turunen, commander of the North Karelia Border Guard, told MTV3 that officials are analyzing the state of the border fence, but the final choice to reinforce it has not yet been made and no actual work has been done so far.

Turunen said a stronger barrier is planned for high-risk and critical areas, including border crossings and areas nearby, amid tensions between Moscow and the West over Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine.
