 ⚡️President Putin signs decree on retaliatory economic measures in connection with 'unfriendly actions' of foreign states


The decree would mean any person or entity under Russian sanctions will no longer be able to trade within Russia, or "benefit" from exports.


A sanctions list will be created within 10 days.

 Slovakia to Seek Exemption from EU Embargo on Russian Oil


"If it comes to an approved embargo of Russian oil as part of a further package of sanctions against Russia, then Slovakia will request an exemption," Slovakia's Economy Ministry said Tuesday. (Reuters)


Slovakia gets all its imported crude from Russia and the country has reserves for a further 120 days.


The ministry said processing of different types of oil was not immediately possible and that a switch of technology was time consuming and financially difficult.


The European Commission is preparing a sixth package of sanctions against Russia and is expected to finalize work on Tuesday.

 EU turns to Africa to replace Russian gas supplies (reports)


Countries in Africa, such as Nigeria, Senegal, and Angola, offer largely untapped potential for liquified natural gas (LNG), according to Bloomberg – citing a draft EU document it reviewed.


The bloc needs to boost its LNG imports by 50bn cubic meters a year until 2030 and increase shipments of pipeline gas from countries other than Russia, the document says.


To meet its goal, the EU must fully implement its agreement with the US for the delivery of LNG, and also extend trade with suppliers such as Egypt, Israel, Azerbaijan and Australia.

 Hungary ‘unfairly’ attacked over Russia – FM


Hungarian FM Peter Szijjarto has claimed that his country has been receiving unjustified attacks for being honest about its dependence on energy supplies from Russia.


“We’re looking at this issue solely from the perspective of Hungarian national interests. We’re not interested in what the East or the West thinks about it,” Szijjarto said Tuesday.


The minister stressed that Hungary gets around 65% of its oil from Russia through the Druzhba (Friendship) pipeline.  Budapest confirmed earlier that it will not back an embargo on Russian energy as part of EU sanctions.

Russia’s Investigative Committee chairman, Alexander Bastrykin, has told RT about a case launched over the alleged development of biological weapons in Ukraine - with evidence clearly identifying those at the Pentagon and US firms who are behind it.


He added the US had spent more than $224 million on biological programs in Ukraine since 2005 - used to equip and upgrade 30 research centers.
