 Greenpeace Block Russian Oil Exports - Chain Themselves to Ship in Norway


Climate activists have chained themselves to a tanker shipping oil from Russia to Norway in protest against the military action in Ukraine.


"Oil is not only at the root of the climate crisis, but also of wars and conflicts. I am shocked that Norway operates as a free port for Russian oil, which we know finances Putin's warfare," commented Frode Pley, head of the Norway branch of Greenpeace.

 World Military Spending Higher Than Ever


Governments’ military spending has surpassed $2 trillion (€1.8 trillion) for the first time last year, according to a new report published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.


The total number adds up to $2.113 trillion, a 12$ increase from 10 years ago, marking the seventh consecutive year that military spending increased.


The usual suspects have once again become the largest spenders, with the US accounting for a whopping 38% of all military spending in the world. China is a distant second with 14%, followed by India, UK and Russia, who all have spent less than 4% each.

 Ukrainian Drones Shot Down in Russia – Terrorist Threat Level at Border Extended


A pair of Ukrainian drones were destroyed in Russia’s Kursk Region - which borders Ukraine from the northeast. (Local governor)


No one was reportedly hurt in the incident as Russian air defense troops shot down two unmanned aircraft. In response the governors of both the Kursk and Belgorod regions extended ‘yellow’ level terror alerts.

America is leading a summit at the Ramstein Air Base on bolstering Ukraine's defenses. It's claimed NATO is not among donors, despite most countries being military alliance members.


Moscow has accused NATO of fueling a proxy war in Ukraine. Germany is the latest reportedly set to pledge Gepard anti-aircraft systems to Kiev - during the meeting on Tuesday.


The Ramstein Air Base talks follow on from US officials visiting President Zelensky in Kiev over the weekend.
