Ukraine Releases Footage of Arrested Opposition Leader Pleading for Prisoner Exchange
The video shows head of Ukraine's second largest party Viktor Medvedchuk asking presidents Putin and Zelensky to exchange him for “fighters and civilians of Mariupol" - a city mostly overtaken by Russian forces.
Medvedchuk was arrested by the Ukrainian security service last week after breaking his house arrest terms, imposed alongside charges of treason.
In Russia the reaction to the idea of swapping Medvedchuk for prisoners of war has been mixed, since the politician is neither a Russian citizen, nor a combatant.

“Despite the damage done, the fanatical core of the Ukrainian Azov nationalists here are unlikely to surrender. They know the crimes they are wanted for; they know they face decades in prison, and they have chosen to drag this out, hoping to buy enough time for the Ukrainian government to somehow save them.”

Russians Cancelled / 2022
#Russia
“Why don’t you drop dead, damn Muscovites?!” This is the new reality Russian people are getting used to in Europe. The aggression is so intense Russians can be verbally abused or even physically assaulted for speaking Russian.
This massive wave of russophobia is what Russians in the West have dealt with for the past two months. And it has no exceptions: everyone, from an elementary school kid to an embassy worker, can become a target. As a result, Russian truckers have their tires slashed, Russian students notice their grades dropping for no reason, and people lose their jobs. What the new reality for Russians abroad looks like — watch our premiere of Russians Cancelled.
